- Yesterday Today Tomorrow Emeralds Grand is a select cultivar of the old, beloved, Brunsfelsia pauciflora species that has several enhanced features. It matures into a larger, more robust, upright-growing tropical shrub with much larger, wide, pointed-oval, medium green leaves and often blooms more frequently.
- The common name, Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow, references the changing color of the flowers. During the bloom cycle, the plant is cloaked in large of clusters made up of the flowers from Yesterday (white), Today (lilac purple), and Tomorrow (pale lavender on their way to white). It is a showy, fast-growing, easy-care addition to the tropical landscape or can be grown as a large outdoor potted plant.
- Care: The best permanent planting location is in full sun to lightly dappled afternoon shade. Plant in fertile, well-draining, soil. Provide supplemental irrigation until well established and during dry spells. Prune to control size and shape after flowering. Feed a good quality slow release bloom boosting fertilizer annually in the Spring. Monitor for common plant problems and treat as necessary.
- Indoor Growing: Brunsfelsias are not well suited for indoor growing as they require the full spectrum of light for 6 to 8 hours daily to produce flowers, warm temperatures with a day/night variance of at least 10 to 15 degrees and higher humidity than is available in the average unmodified indoor growing space. They are suitable for outdoor garden, porch or patio plants.
- Climate: This Brunsfelsia cultivar is a tropical plant. It is recommended for growing in USDA Zones 9, 10, and 11. Protection from cold temperatures is required in all zones for the longest life, best appearance, and earliest flowering. Note that Zone recommendations are based on average temperatures, and do not take factors such as humidity, rainfall, or day/night temperature variences into consideration.
